The beginning
The roots of the event lie within the first musical experiments of the local boys who decided to form a band, a band that is now called KukeProtest. As time passed they eventually got bored of playing just for themselves but unfortunately there were not too many gigs available to a young band like KukeProtest. Thus they decided to organize a concert on their own and to invite other young bands to show their talent.
All this happened in 2004 and went into history as the first Lelle Alternatiiv. Although the first festival involved only 7 bands and rather poor stage equipment it was a successful start to a unique and vital event in the local music scene. Since then the festival has been described as very successful by bands and audience alike which has been the major driving force in the continuous year on year development and maturing of the festival.
